A new graphic novel chronicling the fantastical life and career of David Bowie is in the works! The legendary Starman will be immortalised in BOWIE: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams, chronicling the singer’s ascent from obscurity to otherworldly fame, during his Ziggy Stardust days and beyond.
Artist Michael Allred (Sandman) has joined forces with writer Steve Horton (Amala’s Blade) and colourist Laura Allred (Madman) to capture Bowie’s life through a psychedelic colour palette, as vibrant and as the man himself. The Spiders from Mars, Bowie’s backing band at the time, will also be featured in the comic.
David Bowie’s time on Earth was larger than life. The late musician was a monolith of creativity, cycling through sounds personas and outlooks at a pace well beyond the scope of most mere mortals. The actor/artist/rock superstar managed to transform himself into a series of fictional characters that pre-empted and eventually defined the era’s they emerged from – in many respects, he was a comic book character waiting to happen!
