An ongoing series of digital releases, delving into David Bowie’s 1990s live performances is continuing next week with the latest installment, Something in the Air (Live Paris 99). The 15-track album will be available to stream on Friday, August 14th.

Originally recorded on October 14, 1999, at Paris’ Elysée Montmartre, the setlist was packed with rarities like “Can’t Help Thinking About Me,” a single record in 1965 and not performed live in more than three decades, Station to Station’s “Word on a Wing,” Aladdin Sane’s “Drive-In Saturday,” and the premiere live performance of “Something in the Air” from Hours.

Earlier that day, Bowie had been awarded France’s highest artistic honour, the Commandeurs of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, making the timing of this deeply retrospective setlist all the more sentimental.
Three of the tracks from the upcoming album appeared as Hours B-sides, however, the remaining 12 are previously unreleased. Something in the Air (Live Paris 99) follows previous archival dives that have brought us digital-only releases from Bowie’s Earthling era live collection, including LiveandWell.com in May, as well as Ouvrez Le Chien (Live Dallas 95) in June.
Something in the Air (Live Paris 99) will be available on streaming services on Friday, Aug 14th. The LP's first single, "Drive-In Saturday Night" is out now. Stream below.
