Remember fresh-faced Kylie when we first came across her on Neighbours, or was it Young Talent Time for you? Maybe even earlier from various TV soap roles she scored from the age of 11.
Well, that was a really long time ago, despite it feeling just like yesterday. The point is, Kylie has been in our lives and in our hearts for a really long time.
Our home-grown Princess of Pop became arguably one of Australia's biggest musical success stories having dominated on our charts from the 80s till now. Her career which spans more than 30 years has seen some impressive re-invention and includes some of the most spectacular live shows that have filled arena's here in Oz and all over Europe and Asia.
Today is Kylie's 50th Birthday (WHAT!!) so we thought we'd take a stroll down memory lane and explore just a small handful of her most magical and iconic moments.
The 80s
Everyone has seen the wedding of Scott and Charlene at least 10 times. It is un-Australian to not have recorded that episode of Neighbours on VHS and re-watch it to death. The scene is also responsible for one of the greatest Aussie music sync's of all time - Angry Anderson's "Suddenly", the power ballad that played during the ceremony. This episode was watched by over 20million people in the UK alone, and scored Kylie four Logie Awards and a Gold Logie.
1987 was a whirlwind for Kylie's musical career. Releasing two massive hit singles with "Locomotion" and "I Should Be So Lucky" off her debut self-titled album, Kylie. It also gave us "Got To Be Certain" and all of a sudden everyone was wearing scrunchies and crop tops.
The on-screen and real-life relationship between Kylie and Jason Donovan delivered us this gem in 1988...
The end of the 80s saw Kylie dominate single sales and radio here and in the UK with multiple Platinum and Gold hits including "Hand On Your Heart", "Tears On My Pillow", "It's No Secret" and "Wouldn't Change A Thing" - many written by the powerhouse of Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
The 90s
Welcome the era of when Kylie left behind the girl-next-door image and we got to know sexy Kylie. Many attribute this to her relationship with iconic Aussie rocker Michael Hutchence of INXS.
A series of great albums released in the 90s really cemented Kylie as a global superstar. Rhythm Of Love, Let's Get To It and everything previous had delivered enough impact for a Greatest Hits to be released in 1992. Following that came another self-titled release, Kylie Minogue, and the hits continued but with more edge than previously. The shows got bigger, the stage production became unforgettable with world-class choreography and outfits that took her from stage to stadium - a standard she still fulfils to this day.

Her collaboration with fellow Aussie Nick Cave delivered a darker side and the bubblegum pop baby we once knew was well and truly all grown up.
As the 90s came to end we saw a much more confident artist, with a more indie rock sounding approach on Impossible Princess as we started to see Kylie's name appear in the writing credits.
The 00s
Welcome disco diva Kylie! More confident than we had ever seen her, and who can forget the most famous gold hotpants in existence?
Teaming up with bad-boy Brit Robbie Williams for a track that was a global smash in the Millenium year, proving her to be one of the most saught after pop artists of the time.
By now Kylie was well and truly a household name and icon in the gay community - making regular appearances at Mardi Gras. She brought with her the ultimate party tunes on both Light Years and Fever.
Two more studio albums and another hits compilation saw the 2000's out with a bang, still reigning.
Now
Stripping it back with a beautiful mature re-working of the early hits in the UK's famous Abbey Road Studios in 2015 showed us a timeless and classy Kylie and a reminder as to just how great some of these songs are.
A Christmas album which saw the long-awaited re-union with sister Dannii.
Another re-invention; Welcome Sparkly Country Kylie in 2018. She's still got it.
And let's not forget the last decade saw her close the 2014 Commonwealth Games with an epic 7-song set, re-appear on our TV screens in a Kath & Kim special playing Kim's daughter Epponnee Rae, re-recorded the classic Absolutely Fabulous intro song "Wheels On Fire" for the film soundtrack, and proven her iconic status with a stint as a judge on The Voice, UK.
