Lego has unveiled a long-awaited new set that allows fans to build their own miniature Fender Stratocaster, complete with a display stand and an accompanying 1965 Princeton Reverb amp.
While you won’t be able to play your hand-assembled axe, some rather impressive design highlights will make it feel almost real enough to! Including six strings, a movable whammy bar, tuning pegs, a single-coil pickup switch and a branded guitar strap; and on the amplifier, removable panels revealing the reverb tank and speaker.
The 1,074 piece set includes measures in at 36cm tall and 11cm wide and arrives in either red or black colourways. Watch a promo video via Instagram post below.
The new set was initially teased back in 2020 after Tomáš Letenay submitted his Fender Strat design to the ‘Music to Our Ears’ competition. The company was so impressed by Letenay’s design that they decided to make it available to Lego fans worldwide.
“I used to play electric guitar when I was a teenager and I always dreamed of owning a Fender Stratocaster – but I could never afford it,” said Letenay. “The competition on Lego Ideas gave me the chance to create it in Lego bricks.”
“The Stratocaster was my gateway into music and I love seeing my Lego design with the stand,” he added. “I am hoping that other guitar fans get as much joy out of building it as I have.”
“The Fender Stratocaster guitar is iconic and has been at the heart of so many incredible songs over the years,” added Lego VP of Global Marketing Federico Begher. “We know many of our fans are passionate about music and we hope they enjoy the attention to detail in not only the guitar but also the accessories, such as the strap and the amp.”
The Fender Lego Stratocaster set will be available from October 1st – for more information, head over to Lego.
