This year celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the most iconic music festival of all time, that first took place on a dairy farm in 1969.
Woodstock drew crowds in excess of 400,000 people over the weekend of 15-18 August and set a new standard for the festival experience, making the name 'Woodstock' symbolic and notorious globally. The event is regarded as a pivotal moment in music history with iconic performances by Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, CSNY - just to name a few.
This year, Woodstock 50 will take place on August 16 through to 18, exactly 50 years after the original festival, in Watkins Glen, New York - not far from the original site.
The 2019 line up is eclectic and wonderful and includes some of the guys who played on the original 50 years ago - Dead and Company, John Fogerty, Santana, John Sebastian, Country Joe Mcdonald, Canned Heat and Hot Tuna - what a thrill! They'll be joined by Robert Plant, Gary Clark Jr, The Killers and stacks more across rock, hip hop and pop.
There's even a couple of Aussies on the lineup. Singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, and low and behold, our very own Brian Cadd!
